Technical Assistant
Next IT is currently seeking a Technical Assistant to be based at our Corporate Office in Spokane, WA.
Responsibilities:
- Research, develop, and write content for printed manuals, documentation, and supporting materials for software, hardware, technical procedures, and computer-related services.
- Research, develop and write content for user, admin and reference guides.
- Identifies, classifies and documents the location of all relevant project documentation that would be beneficial for helping to resolve issues and/or answer questions reported to the Help Desk.
- Write, organize, enter, and compile online help files to support end users.
- Prepares and maintain documentation and publications relating to users, systems, programming, operations, products, and services.
- Interview programmers, engineers, developers, and other technical personnel to become familiar with product technology and development methods.
- Maintain an understanding of applications and levels of user proficiency.
- Coordinate layout and organization of documentation while also reviewing and revising previously created documentation.
- Create graphical image, flow chart, and diagram for inclusion in documentation.
- Participate in developing a sustainable knowledge management plan.
- Participate in Avatar Persona work under the guidance of the Marketing Department.
Qualifications:
- Must be experienced in maintaining confidentiality with regard to information processed, stored or accessed.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented with an emphasis on follow-through.
- Must be multi-task oriented with the ability and desire to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing skills.
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills and understands the audience he or she is speaking to.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint) with an emphasis on Word and Excel.
- Experience writing technical manuals, journals and/or other business documentation preferred.
Education/Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or at least 1-2 years combined related education/experience.
